Myrna Minkoff

I finished "A Confederacy of Dunces" it's really, really funny. Plus the purported herione's name is Myrna Minkoff, she wears glasses without a prescription. I wish I had the luxury.
The letters dashed off between Ignatius (the main character) & Myrna are lined with sharp sexy little teeth. Hilarious.

Hedgehogs & mushrooms

I broke down and bought this fabric I've been eyeing for awhile here:

I can't wait to get it. The prices are good but the selection is limited.

An apple a day blah, blah, blah

Another version of fused plastic bags. I don't like the shape as much, too deep. And the straps are a little thick & short. The apple is cute.

Built By Wendy

Thank you Wendy. Thank you for making these highly accesible & awesome patterns. Your pants pattern in "Sew U" was a little hard to follow & had weird pockets but you've nailed it above the belt.

Repurposed book: stationary keeper (-the stationary)

Repurposing books means, yes, tearing all the pages out first.
Each fabric inlay is individually sized, sewn together & then glued into the empty jacket.
The smallest pocket is for stamps & the bigger ones will hold ten sheets of stationary (made with a gocco & coming soon) & hand-made envelopes.
I'd like to make my own envelope glue!! You can flavor it with kool-aid. But I've yet to get that far.

Strip Quilting (with dignity intact)

My grandmother gave me this pattern last Christmas. Apparently it was a style of quilting that rather came in handy for the usage of remnants & rags. I love the blaze & jumble of color myself.I’ve used totally random strips before but this time I decided to try to create a pattern with some of the colors.
I like it so far.

Upcycle

I know everybody’s doing this lately but I had loads of plastic bags under the kitchen sink & I decided to take a stab at it. Besides, I needed something to support my mid-week grocery shopping habit.
So I decided to make an emergency shopping bag that i always keep in my purse.
It’s got an umbrella like velcro clasp to keep it rolled up & tiny.
I added the carrot for kicks. I tried adding a beet on the next one but no one seemed to recognize it, so I might stick with carrots in the near future.
